Some know Anahata through her work with the Tara Dances. However, you may not
be aware of her decades of experience with the general Dances, her musicianship
manuals, her video productions and her scores of original dances and songs.
The weekend of October 16th-18th will be a musicianship weekend. Anahata will
teach guitar and drumming with some practice on recorder and harmonium for those
who are interested in any of these instruments. Anahata teaches all instruments
together in an interactive and active manner. We learn, we play, we dance and we
leave with new capabilities and dimensions as dancers, leaders and musicians. We
ask that those who sign-up for this weekend let us know the primary instrument
on which you want to train (or if there is another instrument like clarinet that
you would like to consider). One harmonium will be available if anyone wants to
focus on that instrument.
The weekends of October 9th-11th and the 23rd-25th will incorporate a
combination of these themes:
1. Creating The Structure: Foundations of the Practice
2. Living Without Fear: Living Our Lives With Inspiration, Courage and Skill
3. Bringing Benefit To All: Living A Happy Spiritual Life
Each weekend will stand alone though we recommend that those who can attend
multiple retreats do so to continue to move deeper. For those who have not yet
experienced Anahata's grace and practical wisdom, we recommend that you attend
the first weekend to leave open the option of joining us again if you are so
moved. However, any weekend will serve as a joyful introduction to Anahata's
loving leadership.
Feel free to forward this email to any person, leader or group who might be
interested. Thanks!

I have longed to play guitar in support of the Dances since I was first introduced to them in the mid-90s. However, I was not able to reach that goal until I attended a weekend last November that Anahata led in Louisiana. The focus of the weekend was dance musicianship. Anahata teaches a simple guitar technique that can be used to support the majority of dances and which I was able to grasp during that weekend. Since then I have been playing guitar in support of the dances which I have found to be a joyous experience. --David Barnes
