This is a unique training of a musical discipline within a spiritual framework, exploring the different strokes on the drum and their connection to the seven chakras.  In order to attend GBTO, you must have taken an introductory workshop with Layne or an Introduction to Frame Drumming class with Farrunnissa. For several decades, Saadi has specialized in adapting ancient Sufi practices to the everyday challenges of modern life, and in 2005 produced a new translation of these practices in The Sufi Book of Life. The focus for this workshop will be on the many pathways that deal with strength, renewal, releasing, trust, being at home in the body, and increasing clarity in relationship with one's inner healing guidance. As resources we will use chant, heart meditation, walking meditation, body prayer, whirling and other forms of sacred movement and body awareness.
